Your Child's Old Shoes Could Be Another Child's First Pair.

Children in remote villages across India walk miles every day without proper footwear. Your child’s outgrown shoes can protect their little feet and help them walk to school or play with friends in basic comfort.
A small act of kindness can make the biggest difference.

The Story Behind Happy Feet

For years, Vikas Dimri trained and prepared himself for one of the toughest challenges on Earth: climbing Everest.
His journeys took him through some of India’s most remote villages, where he witnessed a different kind of challenge.
Children walked for miles every day without shoes.
They crossed rocky trails, rough roads, streams and mountain paths with bare feet. At the very same time, in cities across India, thousands of children’s shoes were being discarded every day, not because they were damaged, but because children had simply outgrown them.
One child had more shoes than they needed. Another had none.
That realization gave birth to Happy Feet.
As Vikas prepared to climb 29,035 feet to the summit of Mount Everest, he pledged to collect one pair of shoes for every foot he climbed.

Mission Everest

One Life, One Everest.
Mount Everest was never just a mountain to conquer. For Vikas Dimri, it was a journey to prove that ordinary people can achieve extraordinary things.
During his preparation and expeditions through remote villages, Vikas met children who walked miles every day without a pair of shoes. Their resilience inspired him, but their reality demanded action.
As he started his step toward the peak of mount everest he held the vision of donating one footwear shoe for each foot climbed. 29,035 feet above sea level inspired a mission on the ground: to collect 29,035 pairs of children’s shoes, one pair for every foot climbed to the summit. Today, Mission Everest lives on through Happy Feet, transforming a personal dream into a shared journey of hope, dignity and happier footsteps.

Meet the Founder.

Vikas Dimri

I grew up in Vadodara, Gujarat, living what many would call an ordinary life. I completed my engineering degree, earned an MBA, and built a successful career in the corporate world.
Like many professionals, long working hours gradually replaced sports, fitness and the adventures I once loved. Life became a routine of responsibilities, deadlines and long days at work.
Everything changed after a health scare in my family.
I decided to take charge of my health, one step at a time. Walking became running. Running became marathons. Marathons led me to the mountains.
Over the years, I trained relentlessly, completed numerous marathons, undertook advanced mountaineering courses, and climbed peaks such as Friendship Peak, Stok Kangri and Island Peak. Every challenge prepared me for the ultimate dream of standing on the summit of Mount Everest, a dream I fulfilled in 2018.
But somewhere along that journey, I realised that the greatest achievements are not the ones we accomplish for ourselves. They are the ones that create opportunities for others.
Happy Feet was born from that belief. If my journey to the highest mountain in the world could inspire even one child to take their next step with comfort, confidence and dignity, then every step I took was worth it.

Partnering with Goonj to Reach Children Who Needs a Pair

Happy Feet proudly partners with Goonj, a non-profit organization, dedicated to transforming urban surplus into a resource for rural development.
For more than two decades, Goonj has worked with village communities, schools, anganwadis and grassroots organisations across the country, ensuring that essential materials reach people with dignity.
Rather than treating donated items as charity, Goonj encourages community participation, where resources become rewards for collective efforts that improve education, sanitation, infrastructure, and local development.
Through this trusted network, every pair of shoes donated to Happy Feet reaches children who truly need them, creating lasting impact where it matters most.
Together, we are ensuring that generosity travels farther than ever before.

Don’t Throw, Donate.

The fortunate and the privileged rarely have to worry about their next pair of shoes.
For many children across rural India, that is not the case.
If each of us chooses to share just one usable pair, together we can ensure that many more children walk safely, confidently, and with a smile that reaches all the way to their feet.
Give Your Shoes A New Journey. Give A Child A Happier One.
